Rosemarie Fiore
'"Good-Time Mix Machine: Scrambler Drawings" I connected a gas generator and air compressor to buckets of paint and secured them into the seats of a Scrambler amusement park ride. Once the ride was in motion, paint sprayed out of the benches onto vinyl tarps placed underneath. The result is a series of enormous hypocycloid designs which recorded the hidden patterns created by the ride as it turned.'

Andy Gilmore
I am looking at geometry and patterns for my self directed image brief and I came across
this man, Andy Gilmore. He looks a lot and into detail at the forming of pattern and shapes within in his work, I also like the choice of colour he uses.

Napkins
Something we are looking at doing to promote Feel Good Drinks is putting
their logo onto napkins that may be given out at cafes with peoples lunches,
I have looked at some interesting designs already out there,
All these napkin designs have an element of fun and humour to them which is just
right for Feel Good as their tone of voice is light hearted and cheeky.

Shannon Rankin
'In my work I create installations, collages and drawings that use the language of maps to explore the connections among geological and biological processes, patterns in nature, geometry and anatomy. Using a variety of distinct styles I intricately cut, score, wrinkle, layer, fold, paint and pin maps to produce revised versions that often become more like the terrains they represent.'
What I like about this is the shapes that are formed within the shapes of the circle,
and that it is a handmade piece of design. The time and work to make this is impressive.
Drawing Machine
'Drawingmachine is a construction involving two pendulums, each suspended from a tower construction and connected through "drawing arms" and moveable joints. A ballpoint pen resting on a drawing surface covered with paper is mounted at the point where the pendulums come together. The pendulums are set in motion by hand, and their movements are represented on the paper. The movements of the pendulums affect the entire room, and the experience engages the beholder's body. While the rhythmic repetitions cause the beholder to pause, the drawing emerges on the paper.'
This is a method I can explore when looking at how geometric shapes can be drawn,
it is like a giant spirograph which is also something I am going to look at. I could use
something like this on a smaller scale to create my drawings.

Bottle Designs
Dawson Beggs-Naturally Procured Teas
This jar for tea doesn't have a label as such, they have printed the
information straight onto the glass jar.
Its simple but tells you what you need to know in a clean concise way.
Peter Gregson- Naturall & Zdravo
What I like about this packaging is that the label doesn't go all the way round the
bottle as drinks bottle packaging often does and the subtle leaves of the fruit
printed onto the bottle to indicate the fruit and veg content of the drink.
Grisha Sorokin-Shokoladnica
This is playful and fun packaging but a simple idea. It tells you what the
contents of the packaging, directly and incorporating it into the design
of the packaging.
Lisa Furingsten, Ida Johansson, Stellan Rexmark & Thomas Björksund-Mjolk
The use of colour is what drew me towards this packaging, each type of milk has its own
colour asigned to it and is used throughout the packaging, you can tell its a milk
carton straight away but it still stands out from normal milk packaging.
Khadia Ulumbekova-Teatul
The hand made, illustrative style of this packaging is what drew me to it, it fits
the product well and uses a simple colour scheme for each product.
Monday Collective-Honey Drop
With this packaging I like how the product is what makes the colour of the packaging,
they are using the product as part of the design, and the simple shapes of the bee, keep it clean but informative.
Stuart Kolakovic-Marks and Spencer Tea
I have noticed a lot of tea packaging seems to have a more quaint, illustrative style
which I am really drawn to as a style I like to work with. M and S have done this hear with their tea varieties.
Klee-Mount Tea
This tea packaging stood out because of its interesting shape. It fits with the product
as it is from the mountains so the shape reflects the product.
Depot WPF Branding Agency-MLK
This packaging stood out for because of the illustrations, they have kept
to the white colour that milk packaging usually has but they have added
onto it to make it more interesting.
Mats Ottdal-Birdy Juice
These juice cartons are really fun and would definitely stand out against
their competitors and children would want these over more plain packaging,
they have aimed correctly at their target market.
Yunyeen Yong-Jooze
I think I have blogged these cartons before but I just think they are so clever.
Its such a simple idea and it has been done so well!
