What is Graphic Design?...Effective delivery of a message
This is the work of JK Keller, he is a designer that produces his works through on going projects. This is one of his projects, 'Fingerspelling Matchbooks'. He uses found matchbooks with which he manipulates the matches on the inside to create different letters and symbols in sign language. I think it's a very clever and effective idea, using found objects to produce a new piece of work.

I saw these glasses and I thought they were pretty cool, I would buy them if I saw them in a shop. I think part of graphic design is about making something that is everyday and making more exciting and interesting.
Mr. Bingo
On Friday we had an entertaining talk from illustrator Mr. Bingo. He showed us some of his work and spoke about the way he works and the industry he works in. It was really insightful to hear from someone who works in the industry that we may go into in the future, it was good to see how he works, the amount of briefs he has at once and how long he has to complete them and how his reputation has progressed.
I like the humour that runs through his work and his style, also the way he works, he simply uses a pen, paper, a scanner and a computer.

What is Graphic Design?...Simple and Effective
I saw this and it made me smile, when graphic design makes me smile I know it's a good piece of graphic design, it's very true, nothing beats a good cup of tea!

What is Graphic Design?...Design by hand...Viewing the computer as a tool
I genrally love most stuff that Daniel Eatock does, here is just one of his pieces of work, Alphabetape.
What is Graphic Design?...Simple and Effective
I like these vinatge beer cans because of their simplicity, there is no fuss. We collect vintage tins at home so I've always been interested in old packaging and these beer cans are a lovely example of vintage packaging and the elegance and simplicity they have.

What is Graphic Design?....Effective delivery of a message
The idea of the water footprint is quite similar to the ecological footprint, but focusing on the use of water' - The Water Footprint
These posters show the amount of water that is used in the production of everyday food, I think it is a very effective poster and highlights an issue that people don't often think about, people take water for granted but in some places in the world the luxury of water is not there.
What is Graphic Design?...Simple and Effective
Here is a packaging for a hot dog by company 'TrueCoffe', they wanted to make packaging that would attract teenagers. I think they way they represented the food hot dog is humorous and effective whilst still being simple.

This is very clever made clock, it is made out of analogue clocks but looks like a digital clock. I really enjoy watching it and if it was to be marketed and put on sale I would purchase one, it makes something as everyday and simple as a clock more fun and exciting.
